Among an extensive variety of aircraft that attend Old
Station Fly-in’s are a number of helicopters, albeit in much lower numbers, and
Sunshine Coast based McDermott Aviation / Heavy-lift Australia often fly two or
three choppers to the family friendly event.
Ferrying to Old Station this year was Bell 412B-1 VH-SUH,
Aerospatiale AS.365N2 Dauphin VH-NAR, and US registered Eurocopter AS.365N3
Dauphin N82MD.
Of interest, McDermott Aviation is the largest privately owned
helicopter company in Australia, and is supported by their fixed-wing
operation - Machjet International - a premium air charter and freight business
that operates 24/7 across Australia, Papua New Guinea and the South
Pacific.

Another regular attendee if operational commitments allow,
and rather fitting considering proceeds are donated to the rescue operation, is the
RACQ / Capricorn Helicopter Rescue Service.
Other helicopters observed included Biloela registered Bell Helicopter Textron 206B VH-SIJ which was operating joyflights from Old Station,
Dululu based Robinson R44 Raven I VH-YSR,
and Stirling Helicopters Eurocopter AS.350B2 Squirrel VH-AGL.
