We have not long returned from spending a few magnificent days soaking up the summer atmosphere in Hervey Bay, and while there, equally enjoyed capturing some aviation movements at Hervey Bay / Fraser Coast Airport.
Among the more interesting sightings was Kakadu Air Cessna 208B Grand Caravan VH-KNQ which is currently being leased by Seair Pacific / Istlecote to not only help boost capacity due to increased demand associated with end-of-year school holidays, but substitute for the planned maintenance of other aircraft operated by Seair.
While we were unable to confirm for sure how long the Kakadu Air Cessna 208 Caravan will be flying with Seair, was however informed by one of the pilots it could be for as long as six months after commencing operations with the airline in November.
As reported previously, Seair Pacific / Istlecote is a Coolangatta / Gold Coast based airline providing a range of services including scenic air and charter operations, contract Fly-in / Fly-out (FIFO) flights and regular passenger transfers to Lady Elliot Island from a number of locations including Coolangatta / Gold Coast, Maroochydore / Sunshine Coast, Redcliffe, Hervey Bay and Bundaberg.
Seair Pacific currently maintains a modest fleet of two de Havilland DHC-6-100 Twin Otters, seven Cessna 208 / 208B Caravans, one Cessna 210 Centurion and one Pilatus Britten-Norman BN2B-26 Islander (pictured) which is on lease from Colville Aviation.
Located inside the Hervey Bay / Fraser Coast Passenger Terminal is Seair Pacific's own Check-in & Departure Lounge.
