Current RA-Aus regulations stipulate a minimum 20 hours of flying training including a minimum 5 hours as pilot in command, ie solo.
The actual hours taken by an individual student may vary depending upon aptitude, frequency of flying lessons etc. Written examinations include Flight Rules & Procedures, Radio, Basic Aeronautical Knowledge (BAC), Navigation & Meterology and Human Factors.
Additionally, RA-Aus flying training students must be fit to a standard equivalent to that required for an Australian Drivers Licence.
