You guessed it, more brilliant photo's by Phil Munsel Photography and this time we take a glimpse at some of the Australian Army NHIndustries MRH-90 Taipan helicopter sightings captured at Rockhampton Airport during Exercise Hamel / Talisman Saber 2015.
Of interest, Australian Aerospace at Brisbane Airport is currently assembling 42 of 46 MRH-90 Taipan helicopters for the Commonwealth of Australia as a replacement for the aged Sikorsky S-70A-9 Blackhawk and Westland Sea King Mk50 helicopters that have served the Australian Army and Royal Australian Navy (RAN) for many years.
The first four MRH-90s were manufactured in France.
The MRH-90 Taipan is an Australian derivative of the medium sized, twin engined, NHIndustries NH90 that is equally capable of conducting land and maritime / naval operations. Of interest, NHIndustries is a joint feature between Airbus Helicopters, Agusta Westland and Fokker Aerostructures.
