Seair Pacific Pilatus Britten-Norman BN2A Islander VH-RUT

While enjoying an opportunity of taking a closer look at Seair Pacific Cessna 208 Caravan VH-LMD & VH-LMZ at Hervey Bay Airport in January 2015, Pilatus Britten-Norman BN2A Islander VH-RUT was parked nearby and also preparing for another day of passenger transfers between the Fraser Coast, Bundaberg and Lady Elliot Island.

Seair Pacific currently operates Britten-Norman Islanders VH-MBF, VH-MBK & VH-RUT which compliment the airline's Cessna 208 / 208B fleet of providing passenger transfers to Lady Elliot Island from either South East Queensland (predominately Gold Coast & Redcliffe) or Hervey Bay and Bundaberg. The three Islanders are also available for ad-hoc charter services.

Versatile by design, the Pilatus Britten-Norman Islander is an adaptable aircraft given the fact it can be configured in an all passenger layout (upto 10 people including pilot), part-passenger / part-cargo (combi) or dedicated cargo all while being able to land and take-off from prepared or unprepared airstrips.

UPDATE (10/02/17) : According to http://edcoatescollection.com/ac1/austmz/VH-RUT.html, it appears VH-RUT has been withdrawn from service and flown to Archerfield Airport in late December 2016 to be broken up.

Although owned by Colville Aviation Services Pty Ltd of Archerfield, VH-RUT was leased to Seair Pacific / Istlecote for the final years of the Islander's extensive 46 year flying career where it was predominately used to transfer passengers to and from Lady Elliot Island off the coast of Bundaberg.

Additionally, Britten-Norman Islanders VH-MBF and VH-MBK were also withdrawn from service with Seair Pacific in 2016, and while we have been able to determine VH-MBF is now operated by Torres Strait Air, were unsuccessful to learn the current or final fate of VH-MBK.
