Early morning 'Virgin' spotting at Gladstone Airport

Took an opportunity while at Gladstone Airport early Tuesday morning on February 16 to capture the activity of Virgin Australia aircraft.
 
The first commercial aircraft to depart the port city for the day and bound for Brisbane as VA1708 was ATR 72-600 VH-FVR. This aircraft had arrived from Brisbane the previous evening and remained overnight.
 
The first commercial aircraft to touch-down at Gladstone on Tuesday was Virgin Australia Embraer E190-100 (IGW) VH-ZPQ after trekking north from Brisbane as VA1707. A short while later, the aircraft returned to the state capital as VA1710.
 
Of interest, Australian Aviation magazine recently reported news by Virgin Australia that the airline plans to remove five of it's 18 strong Embraer E190 fleet later this year. If you missed that article, click onto the link below :
