Inaugural Fraser Coast Fly-in - Maryborough Airport (pt.3)

As the third and final post of taking a closer look at many of the aircraft that attended the inaugural Fraser Coast Fly-in at Maryborough Airport over the weekend of Saturday, August 08 and Sunday, August 09, we focus on two aircraft that were arguably among the more interesting planes that flew-in for the event, Yakovlev YAK-52 VH-ETX and Amateur Built Supermarine Spitfire VH-SFG.

Manufactured in 1981 by Yakovlev Aircraft Factories in Romania, VH-ETX is powered an Ivchenko M-14P, 9-cylinder radial engine. Assembled in 2004, Supermarine Spitfire VH-SFG is an 80% scale, amateur built replica powered by a Teledyne-Continental, 6-cylinder, IO-360 engine.

As highlighted previously, apart from having as much fun as possible, the main purpose for the fly-in at Maryborough Airport was to promote the proposed airpark development at Maryborough Airport by Fraser Coast Residential Airpark Pty Ltd.
