Australian International Air Show 2015 - Armée de l'Air (French Air Force) Airbus Military A400M Atlas F-RBAF

Among the more interesting military aircraft that attended the Australian International Air Show 2015 was new build Armée de l'Air (French Air Force) Airbus Military A400M Atlas F-RBAF, and was fascinated by the huge 8-bladed propellers that are driven by Europrop TP-400 D6 Turboprop powerplants.

 

Designed by Airbus Military (now Airbus Defence and Space), the Airbus A400M is a four engine military tactical airlifter intended to replace older transport aircraft such as the Transall C-160 and Lockheed Martin C-130 Hercules. The A400M can also perform other mission roles such as electronic surveillance and aerial refuelling.
